David Mellor, the former Tory minister, lost his High Court bid yesterday to avoid buying a stake in an antique company which he accused of doctoring heirlooms to drive up the price.

    NEW YORK (AP) A 1912 painting that was stolen by the Nazis and became the subject of a lengthy legal dispute has gone on display. The small, brightly colored painting called “Portrait of Wally” by Austrian expressionist Egon Schiele will be at the Museum of Jewish Heritage for three weeks.
